100 years after the passage of the 19th Amendment, women are still fighting for equal rights. When the time limit for the ratification expired in the early 1980s, the ERA remained three states short of the 38 need for ratification.

Since then, three more states have ratified the ERA, Nevada, Illinois, and Virginia.
